What Happened On ‘Tyrant’ Season 1 Finale

Spoiler Alert Tyrant Season 1 Finale Recap
Fx Original series–‘Tyrant’ season 1 finale sired on FX Tuesday, August 26, 2014—Bassam finds out there is no need for the coup.
The US feels Abbudin is no longer in need of a change in their leader, and Jamal is suitable to run the country. Bassam says he will do it on his own. The U.S. embassy tries to sway his decision by pulling the rug out from under him.
Bassam threatens to go on with or without the support of the U.S. He says he will send a letter to the New York Times telling everything, regarding the United State’s involvement in the plot. As Bassam spends his last night with his wife before his family goes back to the U.S. he receives a text from tucker, telling him he is “good to go”.
Jamal and Bassam go on their fishing trip 20 years in the making. The two rekindle their relationship after the 20 year lapse in their communication and relationship. Jamal says he wants to share everything with his brother, and spills his heart out.
Emma is pick pocketed at a local shop and is close to missing the flight back to America. Which prolongs her and Jenna from meeting Molly and Sammy at the airport.
Upon arriving from sea, the military meets Bassam and Jamal outside the palace. Bassam begins to tell Jamal he wants what’s best for him. Surprisingly, General Tariq is the one leading the military (Jamal was tipped off on Bassam’s plan), and Jamal says he was hoping Bassam would have told him and he would have handed the presidency over.
Their mom begs Jamal to forgive his brother he refuses. Layla visits Bassam in his cell she tell him to remember when she said she would do anything to protect her husband, after spitting in Bassam’s face. Leila says she wished Bassam would come back but now he will wish he didn’t.
Everyone who planned the coup is sentenced to death. Bassam stills awaits his faith, as he hears the execution outside his cell. After the executions, Tariq and Leila barge meet with Jamal to discuss the fate of his brother. Jamal says he will tell his mother before sentencing his brother to death.
The season ends with Bassam siting in his cell awaiting his fate. Jamal will hopefully spare his brothers’ life. We will have to wait until season 2 of ‘Tyrant’ to find out. ‘Tyrant’ season finale was an epic riveting performance by the entire cast. Meanwhile, Molly, Emma, Sammy, and Jenna are stuck at the Embassy
