Oracle CEO Larry Ellison Announced He Will Step Down
Larry Ellison has announced he will step down from his role as CEO of Oracle. Larry Ellison founded Oracle in 1977, and is responsible for the company’s enormous success.
Since Ellison founded the company, he has been the only person to hold the position of CEO. Ellison’s era is coming to an end.
It will take two people to fill his shoes. The new Oracle CEOs will be Mark Hurd and Safra Catz. Hurd and Catz are president’s at the company and will split the role as Chief Executive Officer. Larry will still be involved with the company. As he will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer.
Ellison is a college dropout with a net worth around $50 Billion. Making him the fifth richest person in the world. Ellison is known to have expensive hobbies and a desire to be number 1. He is active in flying, as he owns a fighter jet, and has a love for sailing. Ellison also owns 98% of the Hawaiian island of ‘Lanai’.
