Williams performance was in Ontario, California which initially aired at 9:00pm on HBO.
Katt Williams Comes On Strong
Williams came out strong and delivered as you would expect. PETA might have some issues with the entrance made by the comedian. Katt Williams was introduced by a hybrid boxing ref slash circus ringleader, who termed the phrase “Let’s get ready to chuckle”. Then a cage containing a white lion emerged from the floorboards, followed by smoke, finally followed by Katt’s entrance. Williams entered wearing a white fur coat. It makes you wonder if it was an intentional jab towards the animal rights group.
Williams began the set by poking fun at the recent debacles in his life, which have consumes headlines for the last year.
There was a very personal moment which the stand up icon revealed his favorite show. You probably didn’t know this, but he loves swamp people. “There is something about watching rednecks in their own environment not killing minorities”. Yes he said minorities, you might expect him to say something else. But he kept it clean for the most part. Of course keeping it clean is relative. Considering his first HBO special ‘The Pimp Chronicles Part 1’, anything seems tame.
Williams poked fun at the NBA and NFL, using his stool to visually reinact what he believes a ‘gay athlete’ is really thinking. In fact Katt Williams’ had to go behind the curtain to readjust his wardrobe as a result. Get it he straddled the stool and his underwear needed to be adjusted.
Katt also let us know he is pro Paula Deen. “I need to know the context”, as he speculated several scenarios Deen may have made her alleged racist remarks which he deemed acceptable.
Williams poked fun at his stay in a mental institution “With people who are actually crazy”. The Boston Marathon bomber, former LAPD officer Chris Doerner, and athiests were the target of Katt WIlliams’ jokes during ‘Afterlife: Priceless’.
‘Katt Williams Priceless: Afterlife’ ends with the comedian making a run through the crowd. He shakes hand and takes selfies with his fans. The hour long HBO special is absolutely worth watching. It is a performance that will go down in the books as one of the best. ‘Katt Williams Priceless: Afterlife’ originally aired August 16, 2014 on HBO at 9:00pm and is available on demand as well as HBO GO.
