Chris Davis Suspended – 25 Games From Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles will have to play the next 25 games without Chris Davis. The Orioles first-baseman recently received a 25 game suspension. The suspension also includes post-season games.
Davis tested positive for the ADHD medication Adderall. The substance happens to be am amphetamine. However Adderall can qualify for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). Chris Davis has previously had a TUE for Adderall. However this time he didn’t.
The Baltimore Orioles have 17 regular season games left. If they can make it 8 post season games, then we might see Davis later this year. If the opposite rings true, Davis’ suspension could lead into next season.
Baltimore Orioles Chris Davis released a statement regarding the 25 game suspension. Davis said:
“I apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Orioles organization and especially the fans. I made a mistake by taking Adderall. I had permission to use it in the past, but do not have a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) this year. I accept my punishment and will begin serving my suspension immediately.”
The Orioles will make the playoffs. Hopefully they will prevail and Davis can get some playoff time.
