NBC ‘Blacklist’ Episode Date May 5, 2014
NBC ‘Blacklist Recap’ — Last week’s episode of the ‘Blacklist’ ended with Lizzy telling Red she’s done with him. Agent Keen submits her resignation. She says she can’t handle the pressure of the current division. Reddington reminds her, he won’t speak with another agent.
Agent Keen has no interest in Reddington’s information. Which of course changes. She is reminded that her decision of resignation will affect countless innocent people.
Red asks Lizzy if her anger towards him is worth the innocent lives of others. Elizabeth Keen agrees to finish whatever Red has up his sleeve, one last time for good.
This weeks’ Blacklist killer needed agent Keen on the case. The Cullen Virus is the weapon of choice for the killer in this episode. The Cullen virus is the most deadly virus without a cure. The killer injects his victims and of course is the only one who has a cure.
The infected victims are required to carry out a series of criminal acts. In response for their cooperation they are provided with doses of the antidote.
Luckily Reddington knows the scientist who created the virus. Je takes Lizzy to meet the scientist. The creator of the Cullen virus currently resides in a mental institution. As expected Reddington has a long history with the scientist. Agent Keen thinks Red took her there as a way to get her forgiveness.
Meanwhile she connects the dots with all of the Blacklist cases. They were sequentially selected to render useful information that would protect Raymond. ‘Berlin’ is the name of the force or person that everything leads up to.
Agent Keen and Red fly back to visit the creator of the Cullen virus. The mad scientist claims to know who is infecting people. It is a “Space Agent”. The space agent was actually someone working for the CDC. Ironically the mad scientist was telling the truth. He just wasn’t that good with names.
The space agent is taken into custody. He refuses to talk, until agent Keen informs him he has been infected with the Cullen virus. She tells him she will provide his dose of the antidote when he’s ready to talk.
Berlin is the reason behind unleashing the virus. A series of events is carried out by people infected with the virus. The FBI is fed up with Red’s games. And pursue taking him into custody.
Meanwhile Berlin is on the move to escape from a plane transporting him. Keen approaches Raymond in a public park. She tells him the authorities are done with him if he continues and she can help him. Showing no sign if urgency, Reddington calmly engages in chit chat with agent Keen.
Eventually time runs out. The FBI moves in on Red to take him in. Simultaneously the plane containing Berlin flys by, it has been struck by a fighter jet. The drifting plane looks for a place to touch down. Acknowledging the event, Reddington says it’s just begun. He is taken into custody.
Lizzy goes back and forth between solving the current case and connecting the dots of all the information Raymond Reddington has ever provided the FBI. Next week is the season finale of the NBC television hit the ‘Blacklist’.
